Japan, in the midst of an unprecedented recession, has asked its corporations to work toward fixing another major problem: the country’s low birthrate. Facing a dwindling birthrate of 1.34, well below the 2.0 needed to maintain the population, Japanese corporations have be asked to let workers go home early to spend time with their families and help Japan with its pressing social problem.

Japan’s new economic “stimulus” plan: we need more babies
Posted in Culture with tags Japan, money on 28 January, 2009 by YitzaHow do you spend Chinese New Year’s eve?
Posted in Culture with tags Chinese New Year, Spring Festival Evening Gala on 26 January, 2009 by YitzaFirst of all, Happy Chinese New Year. Was your New Year’s eve eventful? Living in Sydney has resulted in a distinct lack of interest for Chinese New Year in my family.
Examurai Sengoku
Posted in Anime, Review with tags Examurai Sengoku, impression review on 25 January, 2009 by YitzaHas anyone seen Examurai? It sort of came out of the blue. I think it got announced like a week before it first aired. I remember when I first heard about this show, I couldn’t even find a raw to watch. Probably because no-one knew about it. I really should stop checking out new animes and actually watch the second episode of Viper’s Creed. ==;
Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo: best mecha anime this season
Posted in Anime, Review with tags impression review, Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo on 24 January, 2009 by YitzaI really shouldn’t have committed to blogging Viper’s Creed so soon. I’ve just recently checked out Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo, and it is clearly the superior mecha anime this season. So much so that it’s not even a mecha anime. It has transcended the limiting boundary known as the mecha genre and transformed into some kind of mecha/magical girl/parody hybrid. What does that all mean? This anime makes you go, “wtf am I watching?” Yet, at the same time, you cant stop watching it.
How NOT to give change
Posted in Anime with tags lol, money, wtf on 23 January, 2009 by YitzaNo this is not a guide on how to turn change into “tip”. It’s merely one of my stranger experiences purchasing an Easy Way, which is the biggest (and probably only) milk tea fanchise in Sydney if not Australia. More after the jump.
Viper’s Creed – episode 1
Posted in Anime, Review with tags episode review, Viper's Creed on 22 January, 2009 by YitzaAfter much deliberation, I’ve decided to blog Viper’s Creed. Everyone seems to be talking about Rideback, so I thought I’d blog about the lesser known mecha anime this season. Also if it makes any difference, it’s not by GONZO, so there’s still a chance it won’t crash and burn like many of GONZO’s animes.
